PIN's 7th Annual Golf Tournament is almost sold out

PIN's 7th Annual Golf Tournament which is now only 22 days away is almost sold out. We can only add 3 more teams and then the tournament will be completely sold out. We will be holding our tournament at The Signature in Virginia Beach with a buffet dinner and award ceremony after golf. PIN Needs an additional $2,000 to help the homeless

Grace Bible Church did a really amazing thing for the homeless. They built a picnic shelter behind the Church where we serve on Sunday. This is an amazing thing because it keeps the homeless out of the rain when we are serving them and they are waiting outside before we open. There is still one thing we can do to make the shelter amazing. Put clear outdoor curtains around the shelter. These curtains are like tarps and would further shelter the homeless from the wind and make it even better during the harshest of weather. Here is what they look like Click here to see It would cost about $2,000 for all the materials to enclose the shelter and we wouldn't have to pay to have them installed. BIG ANNOUNCEMENT FROM PIN

PIN has big news to announce our 7th Annual Golf Tournament is going to be Thursday June 7th at The Signature at West Neck 1PM shotgun start. The Signature is an Arnold Palmer designed golf course that is rated at the 15th best golf course in Virginia. We will have a great buffet dinner for the golfers in their dining facility at 6PM after golf. Last year we raised $18,000, which was used to provide food, clothing, and medical care for the homeless. One of the new things we were able to do is providing dental care for the homeless with money generated from PIN’s golf tournament.

PIN will also be offering any company that sponsors at (Eagle Sponsor $2,500) or more a Virginia State Tax Credit (NAP) worth 40 cents on the dollar donated. The Tax Credit is in addition to the deduction that results from your donation. So if you were able to do the $2,500 sponsorship PIN will give you an additional $1,000 worth of state tax credits off of your companies State tax liability and a $4,000 donation to PIN could give you $1,600, and finally a $10,000 you would get $4,000 …Thanks for even considering this.

Christmas Presents for the Homeless

PIN will be serving a meal to the homeless on Christmas Day. We also want to give every homeless person a present that would be useful for them over the winter. So we have several Churches and a Middle School putting together backpacks with goodies in them to give to the homeless on Christmas Day. We will probable see about 200 homeless people on Christmas Day so we want to have enough backpacks for everyone.

So how can you help. If you want to put together a back pack we are asking that every backpack contain a pair of gloves, beanie cap, scarf. You are then welcome to add any other items that you feel led to give.

Coat Run will be on December 17th

On December 17th the Tri Club at Final Kick is hosting a Coat Run to get people to donate Coats for the homeless. The run is free and there are no purchases required. Basically everyone will start the race in a gently used coat, then at the 1/2 mile mark we will have bins where they will drop off the coat then run the rest of the race. At the end of the race Final Kick will have some breakfast and hot chocolate available.

The Rock and Roll half Marathon went great we had over 30 runners run to raise money. We had over 50 homeless people volunteer to work the water stop, and we got some love from the newspaper and the local news... What a great Labor Day weekend.

PIN's Emergency Shelter during Hurricane Irene

During Hurricane Irene PIN opened up an Emergency Shelter at Beach Pentecostal to get the homeless out of the Hurricane. We had 90 people show up and it was amazing. I want to Thanks Pastor Tom and all of Beach Pentecostal for opening their building. I also want to thank the core volunteers that stayed up all night to make it happen (Jason, Amy, Neil, Jamie, James, Kerry, Eric, Chris and my beautiful wife Anne). I would also like to thank Bill Dore from the City of Virginia BEach who had our back. But the most important thanks goes to God who had everything under control

Thanks SteelMasters Buildings for making Breakfast Saturday

SteelMaster Buildings came out on Saturday to make the breakfast for the homeless. The volunteer coordinator said that SteelMasters got everything cooked earlier than normal and cleaned up in a record time. How many builders do you know that get done ahead of schedule... Maybe you should call them when you need a Steel Building. I'm just saying. Check out the blog post on their web site
