Introducing The Advance! Center
Every person deserves the chance to move forward.
That is why PiN Ministry is excited to open the Advance! Center, a new space dedicated to helping people overcome barriers, build new skills, and create a brighter future. Located at 1728 Virginia Beach Boulevard in Beach Business Park, the Advance! Center will expand our Workforce Development and Recovery programs and create new opportunities for people to rebuild their lives.
While we were blessed to purchase the building, there is still work to do. We are now raising funds to complete the renovations, furnish classrooms, purchase equipment, and prepare the center to serve as many people as possible. Your gift today will help open the doors to hope for hundreds of individuals seeking a fresh start.
The Advance! Center will provide:
- ChangeMakers, our workforce development program.
- Job Ready Workshops that teach resume writing, interview skills, and job search techniques.
- Daily access to computers, phones, and one on one assistance with employment, identification, transportation, certifications, and work clothing.
- Recovery support groups, counseling, and educational programs.
- Future classes in GED preparation, reading improvement, math, and financial literacy.
For many people experiencing homelessness, finding a job is about much more than filling out an application. It can mean trying to find work without a phone, proper clothing, transportation, identification, or even a quiet place to focus. The Advance! Center removes many of those barriers while providing encouragement, guidance, and hope.
One recent participant came to PiN after losing her job and feeling like she had run out of options. At the Advance! Center, she created a new resume, practiced interviewing, searched for jobs, renewed important documents, and received encouragement every step of the way. Today, she is employed, planning for her future, and recently stopped by simply to say, “Thank you for giving me a safe place to be.”
That is why this center exists.
The Advance! Center is more than a building. It is a place where lives are restored, confidence is rebuilt, and people discover a pathway toward lasting independence.
